This week I scouted some new water with my brother and, it was a success! He got himself a few of the biggest smallmouth he has ever caught in the 6-7lbs range. We ended up catching around 50 fish, most around 5lbs+ for about 31lbs with our 5 best. All fish were released after a quick picture from the net. The catch and release smallmouth season is coming to a close next week on the 10th of May. There isn't much time left to come experience some of the best smallmouth fishing of the season 🎣

Always fun getting into some big crappies on the 10' light action float rod. This gal was 2.30lbs and 15" of slabzilla! It is probably my last trip for these pre spawn beauties. Finding them grouped up feeding has always been my favorite time to get them 🎣

I finally made it back to the creeks since the start of Covid, for some much needed float fishing. Thanks to my good bud @miketuz88 for getting me out, and back in the saddle. Had some good times with good friends and the big ole bucks were a bonus. What a great fight on light line and long rods!

The season is winding down now. What an incredible fall it was for largemouth bass! With the extended warm weather I experienced some of the best fall bass fishing I have ever had. Lots of 5lb largemouth came aboard and some crazy numbers of fish. There was a handful of 50+ fish days and others that were close. It was awesome watching my brother learn new stuff I had shown him and get some beauty bass. Including his 5.60lb smallmouth. Book your trip for next fall, and come and enjoy a day catching bass🐟🎣

These big gals are starting to school up with the temperature slowly dropping. I lost one that would have put me over 28lbs, but that's fishing. My favorite time of the year 🏈🤘

I have spent a lot of time the last 10 years learning to find and fish cold water bass. This November day I won't soon forget. All that I have learned paid off with these 2 largemouth over 6lbs for a 25.90lb sac! It has been an incredible October and November for them.

The wind was borderline silly last week, but I stuck it out and was rewarded with some awesome late fall piggies. I didn't get many bites this trip, but a couple I did get were beautiful healthy fish. These went 5.63lbs and 5.95lbs. The fishing can vary from day to day this time of year, but your chances at that fish of a lifetime are still high 🎣🤘

Working hard for bites in the cold, but when the right ones come it makes the day! A couple mean back lake fall momma's 5.70, 6.01🏈🤘

What a temperature drop again this week, another 10f cooler then last. The fishing for largemouth was slower and tough this week with the massive cold front. One mid 5lb slug hit the deck which made me happy, and all the hard work searching for active fish 🔨

Another windy cold fall day fishing with my brother. Tough bite but we stuck with the pattern and it paid off with a couple nice fish for the few we caught. What a temperature drop the last week, going down 10c in some areas. I'm still running trips for Largemouth into November if you want to learn to catch these green demons late season!

Great way to end a slower day of bassin getting a PB crappie a hair under 16" at 2.20lbs. I happen to stumble across a pod of all 13-15" fish and wailed on them for an hour, talk about fun! First time finding them on this lake too. Cracked some nice largemouth on the jig as well 🤘

A chilly windy day out there. I fished this busy lake a lot this summer catching many fish between 4-4.90lbs. I just couldn't get one over 5lbs for the life of me. I accepted the challenge and kept learning and fishing the lake. Today I finally found the one I was looking for 5.25lbs🎣. Nothing feels better then achieving a personal goal you set fishing! Let's GO.

Heads up to all my fellow bass slayers out there. If you have been having issues with your Garmin Livescope rocking back and fourth on screen, the new 2.79 GLS update is available now. It seemed to fix it for me!

Throwback to 2017, a cold November day in the old Bass Cat. A great day smallmouth fishing with Mercer! In the days before forward facing sonar, ned and swimbaits got it done. This is where my nickname B Shad came from, and I use to this day. We will have to do it again soon bud 🎣

A beautiful near 6lb specimen from the home pond. This warm weather has them being a bit picky unless you find the right fish. She took a little coaxing, but I fooled her. The coming temps should put them into gear!

Fun fall day flipping and cranking with my brother. Lots of fish and a few nice ones. It is always a good day when you crack a 5er!

This weather has been crazy, and seeing water temps in the mid 70's for the 3rd week of September is a first. It's always an awesome day when you crack a body of water PB, this thick beauty @5.92lbs. The fall fishing for largemouth will continue to be great for another 5-6 weeks, let's GO!

Awesome weekend chasing bass solo and with a good friend! Unfortunately I was solo for this day. Some days you don't get many bites, and this was one of them after a huge 4 day cold front. I had only 8 or 9 bites the entire day, but most were good ones. These are the days I fish for! The bite should be heating up in the next few weeks for largemouth and smallmouth bass into October. Don't miss out on that chance at a trophy, or some great fall fishing 🎣🤘

Some great fish from this and last season up to 6lbs 🎣. It amazes me still how tough it can be to get largemouth over 5 lbs, and even harder to get them 6 lbs+. Any 4lb plus largemouth is a nice one!

Trips will run into November if anyone is looking for a chance at a trophy northern largemouth.

Fun day on Lake Ontario chasing these bronze babies! Lots of fish and some good ones up to almost 6lbs for around 27lbs 5 best. Catching them the way I wanted was the best part. I offer 1 on 1 trips fishing with myself to teach you how to catch these hard fighting fish 🤘

I had a really fun day with my Nephew @miles_sheard chasing some largemouth bass recently. He caught some good fish, as he was learning a few techniques I was teaching him. He did great!
Also a few other nice fish from the last few weeks as well, from my scouting trips in the 5lb range.

What a great Smallmouth opener in zone 20! Lots of post spawn fish that wouldn't eat, but I fooled a few. The NY side 3 weeks ago on the river and lake was fairly tough fishing. A lot of smaller fish and heavy pressure on them. Super lucky to get into these mid 6 smallmouth demons on the our side. Lost a few that could have got me to a 30lbs sac. But that's fishing 🤘

The 2024 bass season is approaching fast June 15th!! I'm getting geared up for the NY smallmouth opener on the weekend. Then some largemouth in zone 18 the following week. If you are interested, give me a call/text or msg about trip availability, and pricing this season 613-929-3396.

Had to share this one, this happens so fast there is nothing you can do. Last fall I hooked myself the worst I have yet, and it was not a small treble hook. I was taking a largemouth off with the rear treble swinging free. Sure enough the fish shook as I grabbed him, and got me good! I tried to pop it with braid. But it was on a weird angle, and I couldn't get it being solo. So I cut the top tine off, and wrapped her with tape to finished the afternoon! The fishing was so incredible I couldn't leave. One of a few 40 fish days for largemouth.

I decided to hit my old stomping grounds and it didn't disappoint. Always an awesome day when you get a couple beauties!
